A very easy 3-day sprout! French green lentils are prized for their peppery flavor, and their firmness, even after cooking. Can be eaten as a snack or tossed on a salad or soup for a boost of protein.
- Days to Sprout: 2-3 days
- Soak Time: 6-12 hours
- Yield: 1/2 cup of dry seed yields 2.5 cups of sprouts
- Storage: Our seeds should sprout well for a year after you purchase them, if stored in a cool dry place. If you’d like to extend the germination life of your seeds, store them in the fridge. If you store your seeds in the freezer, they’ll last even longer!
Sprouting Directions
Soak: Put approximately 1/4 cup seed in a wide mouth jar with a sprouting lid. Add water, swirl, and drain. Refill jar with water and soak 6-12 hours. Drain well and invert jar at an angle on a sprouting rack, or in a bowl or drain rack.
Rinse: Twice a day, refill jar with cold water, swirl, and drain.
Enjoy! Ready to eat in (2-3) days. Refrigerate to store.

Very easy to sprout. Delicious raw or lightly cooked, and thus super versatile. Excellent for breakfast when sprouted with a bit of sesame and kamut; Excellent blended with radish and used raw as a salad; wonderful sprouted with fenugreek and added to a quick stirfry, or to the last few minutes of a simmering soup. It’s one of my essential favorites
PLUS French Lentils are the most aesthetically pleasing of lentils, in my opinion. Each one speckled with grey. blue, green and tan looks like a tiny planet. A big clear jar of French lentils in your kitchen is an art d’objet.

Beautiful, quick to sprout, yummy. Lovely on toast with a nut butter. Or sprinkled on soup or stew.

I sought this lentil out from Mums as it’s very hard to find. It has a unique flavour that is delicious on my sprout salad every night ! Easy to grow !

I always thought that lentils had an earthy taste to them, which I thoroughly enjoy. These sprouted lentils take it up a notch. Now I finally know what REAL lentils taste like.

I sprout these lentils in the same jar with the mung beans and it works very well. Even though they are smaller than mung. Very tender. And they are grown in Canada!!! Love having a large supply of seeds to sprout, I bought the 5 k bag. Now I have extra to give away as trial bags to spread the sprouting word. Mumm’s is my new favourite company!! Very fast at answering my questions and delivery (free!!!)

5 stars for germination rate (almost 100 %) and flavour.
Have grown these and am so glad to have found such a reliable source. They are relatively easy to grow, and its quite labour intensive to remove dry seeds!!

Makes a lovely, lush crop of greens. Tastes like peas of course! The leafy fernlike fronds provide an interesting texture. Stand up well to cooking where I cut them in 1/2 inch lengths and add them to soups and stirfries.

These are lovely lentils both for sprouting and cooking. I am now ordering my second 5kg bag. Very good pricing. Grown in Canada!
