Beautiful mix of seeds that grow in 3 days. Contains Fenugreek, Lentils, Kamut, & Adzuki beans.
- Days to Sprout: 3 Days
- Soak Time: 6-12 hours
- Yield: 1/2 cup of dry seed yields approx. 2 1/2 of sprouts.
- Storage: Our seeds should sprout well for a year after you purchase them, if stored in a cool dry place. If you’d like to extend the germination life of your seeds, store them in the fridge. If you store your seeds in the freezer, they’ll last even longer!
Sprouting Directions:
Soak: Day 1; Put 1/4 cup seed in a wide mouth jar with a sprouting lid. Add water, swirl, and drain. Refill jar with water and soak 6-12 hours. Drain well and invert jar at an angle on a sprouting rack, or in a bowl or drain rack.
Rinse: Twice a day, refill jar with cold water, swirl, and drain.
Enjoy! Ready to eat in (2-3) days. Refrigerate to store.
Helpful tip:
- Rinse the seed
- Soak the seed in hot water, around 125F/50C. (Hot tap water should be the right temperature.) Allow to soak for 8-12 hours. The water will be cool by the end of the soak.
- Drain well.
- Rinse and drain twice a day until tails begin to emerge on the sprouts.
- Enjoy!

A truly ancient blend! Fenugreek was discovered to have medicinal qualities thousands of years ago. Lentils are believed to have been consumed since prehistoric times. Legends say that Kamut, also known as Camel's Tooth or Prophet's Wheat, was the grain Noah brought with him on the ark. Adzuki beans have a 2200 year history of cultivation in East Asia.
"The reference use of fenugreek in diabetes mellitus, obesity, metabolic syndrome and other various diseases such as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, hypo-lipidemic, antiaging and antioxidant etc. These disease treatment are available in indigenous system of literature i.e. AYUSH literature but there are little data being contemporary in modern parameters of outcome. Sprouted fenugreek seeds have amazing benefits on the metabolic diseases and hence we can use these seeds as a large number of nutraceuticals. These sprouted fenugreek seeds lower the absorption of glucose from the large intestine and improves beta cells generation in the pancreatic Islet’s of Langerhans. Also imparts the antioxidant property on various systems to protect from free radical’s generation. Some unlikely effects were also shown by fenugreek sprouts such as diuretic, maple-syrup odor and bitter smell. Besides that fenugreek sprouts have amazing effect on the body." I love everything about these sprouts! First of all they sprout quickly- just 3 days! Secondly they don’t have all those messy husks to get rid of at the final rinse like the smaller seeds do. And last but certainly not least they taste delicious! I throw them into stir fry (at the end), into salad or coleslaw or simply add them to a sandwich to provide wonderful taste and texture (really great with avocado and chicken!)
Newmarket Sprouters –
Our family really enjoys this easy to sprout mix. Great with coleslaw or as an addition to green salad. Even just use as a snack.
Slartty –
i have tried many of Mumms Sprouting seeds and while all of top quality i personally prefer the ancient Eastern Blend… for its speed of sprouting and taste being most favored.
Kendra Bushbie –
I love this blend. It tastes amazing, and the textures of the different seeds and grains really come together nicely. This will become an essential for me, will be buying again. The only con is that the fenugreek seed makes your sweat smell funny. It’s worth the trouble.
Daniel Lombardo –
I could eat this food only for the rest of my life and probably be super healthy.
happy camper –
I find this a very tasty mixture – I did not have any problem with sprouting ..soaked for 6 hour
.. fenugreek has different taste which some may not be used to – I am reordering and this will be my stir fry go to with or without mungbean
Kelly –
Bought this for the first time, they sprout great, taste great, all my birds love them
Teresa B. –
I had never tried to sprout seeds with a jar before. I got some strainer lids and tried it with these seeds. It was so easy. Just rinse and invert two times a day and within a few days they were ready to eat. I really like them.
Chippie –
Like the crunch. I used it in salads and sandwiches.
Sprouter5934 –
These sprout well and i haven’t had issues with molding, but the flavor is very odd. The fenugreek flavor is very strong and the mix has an overall bitter flavor to it. This might be good in a salad if you use alot of dressing to cover up the bitterness. I wouldn’t buy this again.
Cindy Bartoli –
Easy to sprout and so darn good. Only surprise was the subtle maple syrup odour emanating from my pores due to the fenugreek 😉
BurlingtonD –
We recently purchased multiple items from these guys and i would not hesitate if you are thinking about sprouting! All was fresh, sprouted amazing and we are very happy with our purchases–garbanzos, ancient east blend as well as a few Lentil mixes plus others
Martha –
My favourite blend so far, sprouts quickly and is ready to eat in 3 days. Delicious.
Trishcatholic –
Very happy with my ancient grains sprouts. I rinsed them lots and let them sprout for 7 days. A little bit of ranch dressing and a dab of hot sauce shaken in a ziplock bag with my sprouts made a great snack. Everyone should eat sprouts everyday!
Samia –
Sprouting was uneven: the aduki beans had only begun to swell when the other seeds had already completed sprouting and were ready for eating. I had to yank them out. So the second time I sprouted this mixture, I removed the aduki beans prior to soaking and then all was well. Also, except for the fenugreek, bean sprouts are best consumed slightly cooked (or even thoroughly cooked) in order to be fully digestible as well as to minimize the unappealing (to me) raw taste. Anyway, it’s the fenugreek that saves this mix. I hope that you’ll remove the aduki beans to save me the trouble. Tk. you.
Samia –
Aduki beans didn’t sprout at the same rate for me as the other seeds; I see that other reviews here don’t mention this problem so maybe the adukis were a bit old in the package I received. Please publish this review. Tks.

This is not a knock on the company, but a decided thumbs down by my students on the taste of the Ancient Eastern Blends.
Gisele –
I’m very pleased with this Eastern blend. I add it to sprouted mung beans & also french lentils to make a salad. It adds texture & colour. I also add avocado & onion & toss with a poppyseed, maple syrup, lemon dressing. A hit at potlucks.
Vladimir –
This mix sprouted fast and evenly. The taste is great. The key is to ensure a full rinse in the mornings and nights. Love it
Bruce Fraser –
Quite thrilled in how fast these little quys sprouted! The taste variety from each grain/bean gives a spark to sandwiches, omelettes, toppings to salad and in a smoothie. The adzuki is the last to sprout, but definitely ‘bursting at the seams’ by the 4rth day, when I refrigerate. I will be a repeat customer for this ‘mix’, thank you!
Sprouter Ross –
Being new to sprouting I was very pleased with the 4 items ordered. This Blend had nice large sprouts and were super easy to grow in mason jars. I found with all my items that after growing for 3-4 days on the counter they were best to then be placed in the fridge. The sprouts continue to grow while in the fridge and stay fresh and crisp. What a pleasure to have fresh, organic, low cost, non irradiated produce at a very reasonable cost.
Attakat –
The Aduki beans don’t sprout at the same rate as the other grains/lentils.
Happy Sprouter –
Absolutely thrilled with these grains. Love the fact sprouts are so good for you and anyone can grow them.
Gloria Kay –
I had tried Sandwich Booster with great success, so I decided to experiment. So simple to prepare, less than 1 minute start up time. Then each day, again, about 1 minute to rinse and drain.. Four days later 3 tablespoons of seeds had turned into 2 liters of sprouts. Incredible fresh flavor and texture. Everything in the stores looks so old compared. I bought a kilo, store them in the freezer, and , if my math is good, my cost was about 25 cents. Can’t beat it.
Beezu –
Great addition to many dishes, but also great in sandwiches & wraps. I see a few comments that the adzuki are slower to sprout, which is a bonus for me because I don’t like the adzuki to get too big for sandwiches. One of my favorite blends.
Sprouts –
Yes I love this blend goes well on anything ! I do find the beans are a bit slower I found that in some of the reviews but go well in the blend .. Just placed my second order with mumms today all new products
Rockhound –
Found it bitter and not as expected. No sweet or nice crunch to it.
Douglas Purcell –
Love the Eastern Blend, one on my favourites. I eat the sprouts by themselves most of the time, as why wait
Mateu Moore –
I love this mix because it sprouts faster than the other ones, I like the big-seed, crunchy texture they make less of a mess when it comes to watering them and they’re easier to sprinkle over meals.
Because of these reasons, I always finish them within the day that they are ready! With other mixes, I don’t know, the eagerness isn’t there. Too many times, they stay in the fridge a day or two before I eat them.
Anyway, Mumm’s has pretty much a lifetime customer!
sprouter newbie –
these are probably my favs
Dave –
This is the best sprouting blend I have tried by far. It is also very quick to sprout, usually within two days (this may have something to do with how hot it is this summer). Great taste.
Cozmicjake –
As above…
Kit –
Most of the seeds and beans sprouted, with only a few non-starters.
Jude –
With a newborn baby it’s hard to stay on top of my nutrition, but I’ve been adding these to everything I eat to get a nutritional boost. Easy to maintain, I simply start a new batch every 2 days to ensure I always have fresh sprouts. They taste delicious and go with everything.
Frank –
I’ve just finished my 1 kg bag – bought 16 months ago. I had purchased 6 other bags of sprouting seeds – these are, by far, the best!
Good growing – almost all seeds sprout – no waste. I usually eat after 7 days – sometimes 8 or 9.
I’ve enjoyed so much that just purchased the 5 kg bag
Corey –
First time trying a sprout mixture like this one, nice and crisp, adds a fair bit of bulk to salads.
Wilda Koepke –
I am very happy with all the products that I ordered. They sprout very quickly and the end product is great.
Christine –
very easy to sprout and they have a nice nutty taste
Loulou –
excellent I keep them in the freezer
Local sprout grower –
I love this blend for the crunch and aromatic flavour of the fenugreek. This was my second purchase of the 5 kg bag. I was disappointed that this time the lentils were brown and not the beautiful speckled French lentils that were in the previous batch. I hope that they will be included in future Ancient Eastern batches of seed.
Abel –
Ancient eastern blend germinates consistently and is loved by each one in our family, from youngest to oldest.
Happy Abby –
After ordering 3 big bags – we are hooked – we absolutely love the mixture – makes a terrific salad – just include cooked organic soy black beans along with onions, peppers and watercress (ground up with a food processer – add tiny bit of honey and apple cider vinegar –

5 My most favorite blend and Mumms has never disappointed
AniB –
Love this blend – it has a nice mix of flavours and textures. Use it on sandwiches, in salads and sometimes I will just grab a handful and munch.
Sprouter Newbie –
My neighbour was expounding the benefits of sprouting and the quality from Mumm’s Sprouting Seeds; I was so intrigued. My order arrived promptly and accurately and I absolutely love the sprouts! I love the broccoli/radish and finishing a large batch of Ancient Grains. Stuffed in a pita with some spicy mayo – YUM! Thoroughly satisfied and looking forward to trying the next batch.
Sudburyberyl –
This is the first time I try to grow sprouts and these were awesome!….I liked them so much I took them to work with me to get co-workers to try it ….Really Yummy…easy to grow on your own at home, healthy and affordable what more could you ask for in a food.
Michael –
Too much Fenugreek for me, tried it in soups and as a salad ingredient and the Fenugreek was just too overpowering
Teresa –
I really like this blend. The seeds sprout so quickly and the mix adds a nice crunch to whatever you add them to.
bow –
Love all the sprouts I’ve tried so far! However, was very disappointed with the last bag because I picked it up and the whole bottom came unglued and I lost at least half the bag. What a waste!!
Grannylo –
Shared my purchase with my daughter, we both agree the Eastern Blend sprouts are tasty. We enjoy them alone, in salads, omelets and sandwiches.
David –
Very easy to sprout in a 1l wide-mouth mason jar. They taste great, and all of our children (ages 3-11) love mixing these with broccoli and alfalfa or clover sprouts and eating them as a salad with a little bit of PC Toasted Sesame dressing.
beanboy –
Thsi is a great mix which sprouts surprisingly well given the diversity of bean sizes. Slightly bitter but no problem in a dressed salad, as an ingredient (shakes), or just to nibble and enjoy a different taste.
HomeDIYer –
Excellent blend to grow to add to the salad. I love how fast they germinate. In two days you can have ready to be used in a salads or by itself.
Katie –
Really tasty blend, the kamut is such an interesting flavour and I love sprouted lentils. I would echo some other comments, the adzuki sprouts later than the others
Burnsie –
Ordered and received as expected. This blend for sprouting is one of our favourites. First time using Mumms and a good experience and value.
slartty bartfast –
product arrived, albeit later than expected, however during covid 19 corona virus plaque, so i anticipated a longer wait… all in good order … and clean and free of contaminants..
Katy –
Very healthful and great to try, but prefer other varieties of sprouts
Joy –
Good sprouts & quick, reliable response & delivery.
Lil’ Sprout –
Bought a smaller size to try out and as soon as I opened the bag and smelled the blend I knew I would need to order again soon. Adds a light flavour and slight crunch factor to any dish.
Another quality product of Mumm’s.
Jackie –
We just love the taste! Those are also very easy to sprout.
SkellntnKing –
Great flavour, awesome crunch and supper fast to to sprout
Mel –
I love the taste of this mixture, it’s different. But, the adzuki beans starts to come out really very late, all the others are out and ready while the adzuki haven’t even started to come out, I had to leave the mixture longer in the jar to have some adzuki in my mixture, which is a shame, because the others sprouts were much too long and had roots, while the adzuki had almost nothing coming out. This is a good mix, but the adzuki should be removed and replaced with a quicker variety of beans so that they are ready at the same time as the others. Otherwise, we’re a little disappointed by adzuki beans.
