Aka Rapini

  • By: Ferment4life Verified Buyer from Halifax, NS CA on January 16, 2016
  • Cons: PRO- nutrition CON- don't soak, or just for a short time
  • Best uses: In a Salad
  • Describe Yourself: Healthy Lifestyle

I add this to a mix (alfalfa, clover, daikon, fenugreek, Crimson lentils) as I find that it's very strong tasting on its own. I like the mix I make, so why sprout seperatly (they're done at the same time). One batch was fine, but the next batch was rotting in spots and smelling bad by the time it was done. I was certain that it was due to the rapini, so for the next batch I added the rapini after the other seeds had finished soaking/rinsing. Now every batch is great!

Some issues

  • By: Dexter Verified Buyer from North Battleford, SK CA on August 8, 2017
  • Pros: The Flavor
  • Cons: The mold is a huge problem. within 24-48 hours, the broccoli and broccoli raab start molding
  • Best uses: By Itself
  • Describe Yourself: Healthy Lifestyle

You do not need to publish this but I thought you should know that I have attempted 4 times now to grow these and they start molding within 3 days. There is nothing I can do to prevent this from happening. The broccoli are near the same way. The garlic chive take forever to spout. The regular alfalfa are amazing!

Good purchase

  • By: SproutPool Verified Buyer from Vancouver BC, BC CA on June 28, 2016
  • Pros: The Appearance
  • Cons: No cons: it was just my own personal preference that I liked the broccoli, daikon radish and alfalfa sprouts more for my personal use.
  • Best uses: As an Ingredient
  • Describe Yourself: Healthy Lifestyle

I've already sprouted Rapini, Broccoli, Daikon Radish and Alfalfa. While I didn't mind the rapini, it wasn't my favorite and only because I prefer the Broccoli, Daikon and Alfalfa. Still it sprouted well, grew quickly and still delicious so no issues in that department, I'm just realizing my preferences for what I like in terms of taste. :-)

I am growing this as a microgreen. The flavour ads a great punch to salads, sandwiches & stir fry. My customers love it too! Keeping this as a regular green & will try sprouting it too.
