Red Daikon Radish

  • By: Green Lady Verified Buyer from Tofino, BC CA on March 29, 2017
  • Pros: The Appearance
  • Cons: When growing in a soil base as opposed to a coir or peat seed starter, it molds.
  • Best uses: By Itself
  • Describe Yourself: Chef

Best seller! My customers love the colour, crisp fresh crunch and the spicy taste. Although it needs regular watering when in a restaurant kitchen, it has a good shelf life. The Daikon Radish has a fast germination time, and is consistently a strong but short growing time. My customers also like that the seed is organic and non-GMO which is a strong selling point. Couldn't be better!

Top quality for professionnal growers

  • By: Plantules des Cantons Verified Buyer from Montreal, QC CA on January 9, 2016
  • Pros: The Taste
  • Cons: No cons, it does exactly what it as to do!
  • Best uses: In a Salad
  • Describe Yourself: Chef

We grow greens and herbs professionally for the finest restaurants in Montreal, QC. So when we purchase seeds from suppliers, we need them to germinate very equally so the trays we ship to the kitchens are just perfect, everything at the same height. The Red Daikon radish from Mumm`s is definitely a product we`ll keep offering on a regular basis to our customers and I have to say that we had pay more for the same cultivar from other seeds suppliers.

These are eye-catching micro-greens(purples?). A splash of colour atop a salad; in a sandwich. The radishy bite is so welcome, especially at a time of year when actual radishes are hard to come by. All that and healthy too!

I discovered Mumm's when I first moved to Canada 16 years ago. I have purchased a variety of items regularly over the years, and have occasionally purchased seed from other suppliers - it is NEVER worth it! Mumm's offers quality, customer care when needed, always offer prompt service, and always offer a great variety of seed - both the every day items that I am looking for as well as the more unique options.

I LOVE these sprouts !

  • By: Healthy One Verified Buyer from Calgary, AB CA on March 29, 2017
  • Pros: The Taste
  • Cons: Friends and family, & dinner guests eat these sprouts faster than I can grow them and these seeds sprout as per Mum's claims. Germination is well over 90%.
  • Best uses: By Itself
  • Describe Yourself: Healthy Lifestyle

The taste is exquisite either in a salad, or as a snack. Seems I am always running low on these sprouts as I can't keep enough sprouts on hand as everyone loves eating them. The hot tastes is not overpowering or eye watering, which makes it great in salads and as a juice. Definitely a hot item around my house ! The sprouting time is as described on the packaging. Delivery was FAST and the seeds well packaged. I will be ordering these red radishes, and other types of sprouts as a regular customer. Above all else these sprouts, as the other sprouts they sell are all non-GMO, organic AND HEALTHY FOR US ! Thanks Mum's.

Germination rate

  • By: Just an ordinary person Verified Buyer from Brampton, ON CA on March 3, 2017
  • Pros: The Flavor
  • Cons: Germination rate
  • Best uses: In a Salad
  • Describe Yourself: Healthy Lifestyle

Seemed to grow more slowly than I expected and the number of seeds that didn't germinate seemed high. I am pretty new at this so don't have a comparison except kale and broccoli which grow quickly and with a high percent of successful germination. Nice taste and all of the family are getting into this.
